Who is Lucile Packard? ›

Lucile Packard was present in the famous HP garage and influenced the development of the HP Way. During her life she devoted her efforts especially to children's health, culminating in the Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford.

History. Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford was founded in 1991 after a $40 million donation in 1986 from David and Lucile Packard, and since then LPCH has become one of the nation's most prominent children's hospitals.

Nancy Lindborg has served as the president and CEO of the David and Lucile Packard Foundation since August 2020.

Packard's contributions to corporate America are well-known; his beneficence as a philanthropist, perhaps less so. That is unfortunate, not least because of the scale of his giving. He and his wife established the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, to which he left the bulk of his $4 billion estate.

To have the best shot of getting in, you should aim for the 75th percentile, with a 1570 SAT or a 35 ACT. You should also have a 3.95 GPA or higher. If your GPA is lower than this, you need to compensate with a higher SAT/ACT score.

Opened in 1991, LPCH is the heart and soul of Stanford Children's Health. Nationally ranked and internationally recognized, our 311-bed hospital is devoted entirely to pediatrics and obstetrics. Our division is very active in treating a variety of patients at LPCH.

On 29 April 1974, then Prime Minister Gough Whitlam proposes a major hospital to meet western Sydney's growing healthcare needs. Construction of this hospital started on 6 June 1974 and finished in late 1978. New South Wales Premier Neville Wran opened Westmead Hospital on 10 November 1978.

They formalized their passion for philanthropy in 1964 when they established the David and Lucile Packard Foundation.

The David and Lucile Packard Foundation is a private foundation that provides grants to not-for-profit organizations. It was created in 1964 by David Packard (co-founder of HP) and his wife Lucile Salter Packard. Following David Packard's death in 1996, the Foundation became the beneficiary of part of his estate.

From 1936 to 1938, Packard was an engineer with the General Electric Co. in Schenectady, N.Y. In 1938, he returned to Palo Alto and the following year formed a partnership known as Hewlett-Packard Company with William R. Hewlett, a friend and Stanford classmate.
