Things to Consider
- Allowable Units:
- Fall/Spring Semesters: Up to 11 units.
- Summer Semester: Up to 9 units.
- Intersession: Up to 3 units.
- Fees:The per-unit enrollment fees for the course are waived. However, students in theStandard DualEnrollment program are responsible for the cost of textbooks, any course-related supplies, and the following college-related fees:
- College Service fee,Student Health fee, andStudent Representation fee.Fees are subject to change, see theEnrollment Feeswebpage for the most updated list.
Step 1: Apply Online to OCC

Complete the online application for the semester you plan to attend. You do not need to re-apply unless you skip 2 primary semesters (Fall and Spring).On your application, under "College Enrollment Status" please ensure you select "Enrolling in High School and College at the same time".
Note: Once you graduate or will graduate from High School, (Spring of 12thgrade) Dual Enrollment Students must re-apply to OCC in order to attend as a First-Time College Student.

Step 2: Submit the Dual Enrollment Form

After you receiveyour acceptance email, which includes your OCC Student ID Number, complete the Dual Enrollment Form and email it in a PDF format todualenrollment@occ.cccd.edu. Be sure the form has the appropriate signatures (parent/guardian and your HS Principal). Please note that we cannot accept typed signatures, they MUST be handwritten.
You will be notified via your student (@student.cccd.edu)email when the form is processed so you can register for courses.Please allowat least7-10 business days for the processing of forms.For the fastest possible processing time please make sure your form is accurate, thatallfields are filled out, and that all signatures are handwritten.Dual Enrollment Formscan begin being accepted for the semester as soon as theClass Scheduleis available to view for that term. Formsshould be submitted at least 4 weeksprior to your registration appointment. Past this point we cannot guarantee that you will have the proper permission by the time your registration appointment opens. To find your registration appointment please see our FAQ "When can I register?" below.
IMPORTANT NOTE:Students planning ontaking courses atGolden West Collegeor atCoastline College, must also complete the dual enrollment form for that college. The dual enrollment form linked aboveis for OCC courses only.
Step 3: Register
All registration is done online via theMyCoaststudent portal.You may register for the courses for which you have been approved anytime on or after your registration window opens. To view when your registrationwindow opens,login to:
MyCoastPortal > Registration > Registration Tools > Quick Add or Drop Classes > Prepare For Registration > Select Term

If the course(s) you are approved for are waitlisted, register yourself on to the waitlist and keep an eye on your student (@student.cccd.edu) email for a notification in case a seat becomes available. Please see our Waitlist Information webpage for more information.
If the course(s) you are approved for are closed, you may petition the course(s) by attending the first-class meeting and requesting an "Add Permit" from the instructor (follow the instructions on the permit to register).
Step 4: Pay Your Fees
To view your balance and pay in full online using a Visa, Master Card, or Discover card, follow the steps below.NOTE: It his highly recommended that students useGoogle Chromeas their browser when making payments on the student portal. Safari is not recommended.
- Log-in to yourMyCoastportal.
- Click on Registration on the left navigation bar.
- Click on Pay My Fees under Registration Tools.
- Select the term to see fees due.
- Click on Pay Now.
- The payment portal will open. Click on Make Payment and follow the prompts.
Enrollment fees are due at the time of registration.Failure to pay by the deadline, may result in courses beingdropped for non-payment.If you are unable to pay the balance due for your classes by the scheduled drop for non-payment deadlines, students may alsosign-up for a payment planto cover a term balance of $150 or more!

- Fees:Students may be subject to buying their own textbooks if the high school district doesn't pay for them. Otherwise, CCAP courses are at no-cost to the students.
Step 1: Apply Online to OCC
This step is TYPICALLY done within a CCAP Dual Enrollment Workshop at your High School.

Step 2: Submit the CCAP Dual Enrollment Form
This step SHOULD be done within a CCAP Dual Enrollment Workshop at your High School.
