Our First Flight in 2021
By Dana Brejakova, Contributing Writer & Photographer

"Man, what a beautiful afternoon, how about going for a short flight?", Dennis proposed.

"Sure! Where to?", Jimmy the Squirrel replied and winked at me.

"Let's go to Truth or Consequences in New Mexico." Dennis suggested.

That is a neat idea, I thought to myself. Passing over the most southern point of the Rocky Mountains and flying above some charming topography that opens up only at this time of year - I am in. Let's start the new year with a well-deserved little adventure. Read more…

THIS WEEK'S WARNING FROM THE BARONESS
To all the Glue Angels who have viewed this week's BARNTOON : Just want to let you know that it happened to me, and it can happen to you, too. Sometime back in 1999/2000 my office was located in the back of a Quonset Hut type hangar, and my dear friend, one of the local Glue Angels, used some type of toxic product while restoring an antique-aircraft at the front of the same hangar. The undetectable fumes spread to the back of the hangar and into my office. The next day I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure and given a few months to live. My cat died, and one of our friends, another Glue Angel, had an autopsy done on my cat, and it was also diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. Why am I still alive and kicking? Barnstormers.com made me the luckiest Baroness on earth, and so did a new medication that had recently come on the market. Anyway, please, please make sure you have lots of ventilation... like the BARNTOON says, or you will look exactly like the guy in this BARNTOON ... and me!

Barnstorming was a short-lived commercial venture. Within ten years of the end of combat, these daring and experienced pilots were being regulated out of business. Flying safety rules and the market crash of 1929 put most barnstormers out of business. The era of the barnstormer was over.
